Meeting responds to World Environment Day, Sea-Island Week

A meeting in response to the World Environment Day (June 5th), Vietnam Sea and Island Week in 2018 was held by the Ministry of Education and Training at Quy Nhon University on June 16.

The event was attended by Deputy Director of Department of Science Technology and Environment Le Trong Hung, representatives of provincial departments and agencies as well as Quy Nhon University’s lecturers and students.

Addressing at the meeting, Hung asked provincial education authorities to  intensify educating the Party and the State’s policies on protecting the motherland's independence, sovereignty, unification and territorial integrity; also introducting environmental education in schools as well as calling teachers and students to action on environmental protection.

This year’s theme for World Environment Day is “Beat Plastic Pollution” and Vietnam Sea and Island Week is “Together we protect blue ocean”.

It aims to call our changing habits to properly dispose of plastic waste, caring for our ocean, raising people's awareness on the position and importance of Vietam's seas and islands in the cause of national construction and defense.

After the meeting, participants participate in planting trees and visiting the exhibition area of ​​products that are made from recycled materials.
