Post-disaster reconstruction project kicked off

A workshop to launch an emergency natural disaster reconstruction project in some localities in the central region of Vietnam was held in Quy Nhon city on January 22.


The event was attended by Binh Dinh’s Vice Chairman Tran Chau, Achim Fock, country director for the World Bank in Vietnam, and representatives of the participating provinces.

The project, which has total investment capital of USD118 million, aims to build the infrastructure, drainage system and enhance the locals’ awareness.

It is being implemented in the central provinces of Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan and Ha Tinh in the 2017-21 period.

Binh Dinh has received USD52 million preferential loans from World Bank to carry out 6 projects in the agricultural sector and 3 transportation projects.

At the workshop, Vice Chairman Chau committed to effectively utilize the loans.
