EVFTA to boost sustainable economic growth

A session focusing on international integration and sustainable development in the Central Vietnam under new situations and the deployment of EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), was launched on June 24 by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Provincial People's Committee in Quy Nhon.

The session aims at providing updated international and regional information, conducting diplomatic negotiations, supporting localities in the implementation of EVFTA, which was approved by the National Assembly and expected to come into effect on August 1.

Thematic reports conducted by specialists at the sessions affirmed that EVFTA plays a pivotal role in the economic integration process, which helps to enhance the Vietnam’s status in the international trade system, offers Vietnam and EU great opportunities to expand their economic relationship, diversifies export markets, attracts more investors and provides more practical benefits. The agreement is also a new motivation of the national economic reform and the transformation of economic growth models.

Binh Dinh’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Phi Long said that EVFTA allows localities in the central of Vietnam to better understand specific regulations as well as related issues in the implementation of EVFTA, in order to develop effective economic integration policies and socio-economic growth strategies, supporting enterprises to actively integrate into the global economy.
