Exhibition highlights socio-economic achievements of central localities

An exhibition highlighting the socio-economic achievements of 14 cities and provinces in the central region opened in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh province, on August 19.

Binh Dinh's Vice Chairman Phan Cao Thang is visiting a stall featuring the local specialties.

Dozens of booths installed at the event showcase publications and documents introducing the socio-economic advantages and potentials of the central localities, thus calling for more investment into the region.

Typical handicraft and agricultural products of localities in the region are also on display at the exhibition.

According to Ngo Van Tong, Director of the Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the exhibition aims to provide an opportunity for localities in the central region to boost trade exchange and strengthen their cooperation for mutual development in the time to come.

The event is held by the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee within the framework of the central region economic development conference, which commenced this morning under the chair of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The central region, including 14 localities from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan provinces, is a strategic area in terms of politics, economics, society, defence and security.

Over recent years, the localities in the region have exerted every effort and closely coordinated with each other, gaining encouraging outcomes in socio-economic development. The region is now becoming an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors alike.
