Plastic straws to be removed from Co.opmart’s retail stores

All Co.opmart’s stores will stop selling plastic straws from May 1, as a move to support the environmental friendly business, according to the company’s director for the Central region Thai Luong Hung.

Under the plan, 14 Co.opmart supermarkets in the Central provinces will provide environmental friendly straws made from bamboo, flour and stainless steel.

Recycled plastic straws will also be removed from Saigon Co.op’s products, Hung said.
