20th Party Congress of Binh Dinh kicks off

The 20th Congress of Binh Dinh Province’s Party organisation for the 2020-2025 tenure opened today (October 15) at the province’s Convention Centre, with the participation of 350 official delegates representing 70,000 Party members across the province.

In his opening remarks, Secretary of Binh Dinh Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung said the 20th Party Congress is a political event of special importance that attracts the attention of people across the province.

He said that the Party organisation, administration and local people are determined to hold a successful congress, creating new momentum and fundamental improvements in all spheres.

Despite many difficulties in the past tenure, Binh Dinh’s authorities clearly defined key tasks and feasible solutions for the implementation of tasks, developing the province more quickly and sustainably.

Tung stressed that the Congress will point out drawbacks, the roles of leaders and learn any lessons in the past, aiming to assist new Executive Board in mobilising all resources to focus on rapid and sustainable economic development and implementing better management in all sectors, especially in construction order, traffic safety, urban discipline and civilisation.

Regarding the feedback on draft documents to be presented at the 13th National Party Congress, according to the report, thousands of opinions have been collected from individuals and Party organisations at different levels.

Those attending the opening session included Politburo member Hoang Trung Hai, local leaders, former leaders.The delegates will also elect a new Executive Board for the 2020-2025 tenure.

The congress is scheduled to last through October 16.
