Quy Nhon, Yongsan cooperation: Gifts from Koreans

Many cooperation programs have been carried out in the central province of Binh Dinh since Quy Nhon City and Yongsan district (Seoul City, RoK) set up the friendly relationship in 1996.

Poor residents in Phuoc My commune now have new houses thanks to the donation from Yongsan district.

Yongsan-sponsored houses for resettled residents in Phuoc My commune of Tuy Phuoc district, which have been built since 2013, are the obvious proof for the frienship between two sides.

A total of 19 “happy” houses are now forming a small village, which also include a kindergarten and a community house built this year.

“Travelling everywhere to earn a living and coming home empty-handed, my family was donated with a house, helping us to maintain their livelihood,” said Do Thi Lan, 51, who received a “happy” home in 2016.

Kids are enjoying activities at the Korea-style kindergarten

Among the infrastructure donated by the Yongsan’s authorities, Phuoc My’s kindergarten was equipped with Korea-style facilities. The fully-furnished school is a place for 45 children living around to enjoy their daily activities.

According to Vice Chairwoman of Phuoc My People’s Committee Dang Thi Tuyet Nhung, this year is the 7th consecutive one the commune has been supported by Yongsan district. Each house was also given a sum of money to start new jobs.

“Their donation reminds us about the cooperation between Yongsan and Quy Nhon,” Nhung said.
