Frienship boosted for Binh Dinh, Laos’ southern provinces

The comprehensive cooperation programmes between Binh Dinh and Lao provinces of Attapu, Sekong, Salavan and Champasak have gained vital outcomes in recent years.

Binh Dinh supported the southern provinces of Laos in such areas as agriculture, health, investment promotion and tourism over the period of 2011-2016.

Different training courses were also organized for Lao experts in Binh Dinh. The local authorities also provided more than 500 scholarships to Lao students who were studying in Quy Nhon city.

Binh Dinh’s enterprises have so far invested over 48.2 million USD in 11 projects in southern provinces of Laos. They included a pharmaceutical venture, a rubber processing plant and other cooperation programmes.

Other organisations in Binh Dinh and Laos’ provinces also enhanced their cooperation from 2014 to 2017.

In the coming years, Binh Dinh and these provinces signed other programmes for the period of 2016-2021.

Under the coopration between two sides, Binh Dinh’s experts will continue to support Laos’ provinces in the agriculture sector. Local businesses in Binh Dinh will also be called on to seek opportunities in Laos.

The tourism connection between Binh Dinh and the provinces is expected to be expanded in the coming time.
