Export turnover down 22%

The global financial crisis and economic regression have badly affected businesses, particularly exporters.

The province’s export turnover value was estimated to reach US$18.7 million in April, a reduction of 22 percent against the same period last year, said Binh Dinh Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Three economic sector saw export turnover value decreases, with a 62 percent fall in foreign-invested enterprises, a 21.3 percent decline in private sector, and a 11.5 percent decrease in State-owned businesses.

Some groups of commodities saw export turnover value decreases, with minerals and construction material (60 percent), food (16.3 percent), and forest products (25%).
